The Oxbow School is a semester-long visual arts and humanities boarding program in Napa, CA for high school juniors and seniors. Oxbow students come from all over the United States and abroad. Napa becomes home for four months, and especially so now. In 37 semesters, Oxbow has weathered floods and earthquakes, but nothing on the scale of the North Bay Firestorm that started October 8th. Students were evacuated for two weeks due to our proximity to the Atlas Fire and hazardous air quality from other surrounding blazes.
Though the Oxbow campus is untouched, many people in Oxbow's immediate and extended community suffered tragic losses. The homes, properties, livelihoods, and health of the region have been lost, damaged, and severely compromised. But through this, the community's supportive and loving nature is shining through. The Oxbow students are doing their part with multiple initiatives and volunteer hours through Rebuild Wine Country and Napa Strong and, with this art sale, your help.
All proceeds from these artworks will be donated to two organizations working hard to support all levels of the community: The Tipping Point Emergency Relief Fund and Rebuild Wine Country. Tipping Point supports low-income, vulnerable communities impacted by the crisis, including vineyard workers, immigrants, displaced young people, and students. Rebuild Wine Country, a new organization, has partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Sonoma County to repair and rebuild homes for those who need it most.
Please note: We have organized this sale in a very short period of time. All works are unframed and the cost of shipping will be factored into your final price.
